Jericho road

Olga made this picture while on the bus. We came across many different people on this wilderness road.

On the way, we met a man on a donkey. Joelle made this picture from the front of the bus.
The road was narrow, with deep wadis on either side. Dvora traded her front row seat for one further back, because she did not like driving there.

Salesmen from Jericho had set up shop at the beginning of the path.

The Judean wilderness

The old Jericho road. It's not very wide, and seems difficult to "pass by on the other side".

St George Monastery, built into the wall of the wadi.
On the top of the mountains are Bedouin, with black goat-hair tents (they're very small in the picture, but you may be able to just make them out)

Bedouin also live close to the road, but here we didn't see any black goat-hair tents.
