Matza & wine on the temple stairs

We walked to the temple mount,
this time the Archeological Park entrance to the south / east corner

Walking below Robinson's arch

2000 year old damage, when the Romans threw
the stones from the temple mount in 70AD

So much history in this place

The words on this stone indicate
the place of the blowing of the trumpet

They found it when they were sawing through it

Last teaching, Pentecost or Shavuot

The readings for Shavuot were from
Exodus, Habakkuk, Ezekiel
voices, languages, wind, lightning

I looked and saw a windy storm approaching from the north and a huge cloud with flashing fire, glowing brightly all around with the color of gleaming amber from within the fire.

Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently. As the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him

 When he stands up, the earth shakes;

Then at Pentecost after Jesus had left:

Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.  They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.  All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.  When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.  Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?  Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?

There were voices, wind, lightning

and God changed His address
He lives in the community of believers
they are the new house

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—  you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood

In Exodus 3000 people died in Acts 3000 people live

The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died

those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

the connection is very strong

The disciples went out  to teach about the kingdom
and many, many believed

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,  praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

and when you believe you become part of this community
and you go out together and
love God and your neigbour
that is how the kingdom is advanced

walk as Jesus walked
in humility, obedience & love

Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.  But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:  Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

we had communion on the temple stairs
the most likely place where Pentecost "happened"

While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.  Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.  And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.

eat and believe that Jesus' body is broken for me
drink and believe that Jesus' blood was shed for me

Time to leave, and go into the world
make disciples and teach them

go and make disciples...
...  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you

One last look,
leave to serve
