Day 6: Mount of Olives

The Mount of Olives as seen from Jerusalem. Notice the "Seven Arches Hotel" on top.

Faith Lesson:
Ben did a faith lesson on the mount of olives from Zach 14:3. "His feet will touch upon the mount of olives." This talks about the Messiah. That is why, for thousands of years, people have wanted to be buried on the mount of olives - to be the first to rise from the dead when the Messiah comes.
Many of the graves have stones on. To honer the dead.

The view of Jerusalem from North to South - starting with the Eastern Gate.
"The LORD said to me, "This gate is to remain shut. It must not be opened; no one may enter through it. It is to remain shut because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it. 3 The prince himself is the only one who may sit inside the gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD." ~ Ezekiel 44:2-3

To the North of the dome.

The Dome of the Rock

The temple platform with the "Dome of the Rock".
On many pictures you can see building cranes. They call them the "National bird of Jerusalem".

Just outside the temple platform you can see the temple stairs (or the Southern Stairs)

Mount Zion
